Nine Principles That Guide Us

These are the Playbook’s Foundational Advocacy Strategies — the rules we follow to work toward systemic change. Click each card to read the full principle.

The Core Shift

From Fighters to Builders

This is the Playbook’s central thesis. Drag the slider from pure fighter to proactive builder — and read exactly what changes at each stage, in the Playbook’s own words.

Pure Fighter

“Fight every offense. Respond to every attack. Never let an insult go unanswered.”

"Our fight has not been fruitless, but in this new reality, it feels neverending — one step forward and two steps back. A minor win followed by a major setback."

The Wisdom That Guides Us

Every quote below is cited directly in the Playbook — from Ben-Gurion and Hillel the Elder to Einstein and Golda Meir.

Our future depends not on what [the others] will say, but on what [we] will do!

— David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister

The Four Frameworks

The Playbook in Four Ideas

Strip the Playbook down to its load-bearing ideas and this is what remains. Each one is sourced directly from the document.

"Our goal of eliminating antisemitism is too broad, too abstract, too unrealistic. The real way to win the fight is, in fact, to build: strong allies, strong partnerships, pluralistic communities, impactful initiatives, meaningful programs. As builders we become truly proactive — we set the agenda, we create our own opportunities, we envision the future we want."

The Long Arc

From Dreyfus to Today

The fight is not new. Understanding the pattern is how we break it.

1860

Herzl Is Born

A young journalist is born in Hungary, in an era "in which the soil was still damp from the horrors of the pogroms."

1894

The Dreyfus Affair

A French Jewish officer is charged with treason. Herzl covers the trial. It changes his view of the future forever.

1897

World Zionist Congress

Herzl's conclusion: antisemitism is "a permanent part of the human condition." The only answer is a Jewish state.

1948

The State of Israel

Ben-Gurion becomes the first Prime Minister. The refuge Herzl envisioned, built.

2023

October 7

"The single worst day for Israel and the Jewish people since the Holocaust. October 8 — and every day since — has been our new Dreyfus Affair."
